Pompeii

a. 23 km southwest of Naples, the city of Pompeii. Are you in sørItalia, you should definitely pay a visit to Pompeii. The train from Naples stops right outside the ruins and there awaits you a world full of surprises.

The city was buried in the ashes of Mount Vesuvius erupts in the year 79 AD. Since the city was not affected by the lava, but buried under 6 feet ashes, the city was preserved. More than two thousand people were killed, out of a population of approximately 10 000 people. People fled in all directions when they realized that Mount Vesuvius erupted. Others waited in the hope that the crowd in the streets would slow down, or hid in their houses and thought they were safe from the ashes snowing and the deadly gas that crept around.

Pompeii is a very old city, the most ancient historical references dating back to approx. 600 before Christ.

In the nineteenth century, the extensive excavation of the city. Two thirds of the city is currently excavated. Since the city was covered in ash, much preserved. During the excavations have found footprints of humans and animals, pots and tools, which let the ashes like a cement block around. The people and Dyrnes gradually crumbled up, but fingerprints remained. Archaeologists age of these fingerprints with gypsum and thus they were preserved. Through migration in Pompeii you can see how people sit huddled for protection against ash flow, or crumbled stairs during flight.

Pompeii was a well-functioning society, surprisingly advanced in terms of society and technology. Compared to other Roman society, was the living standard of Pompeii high. The houses are large and richly decorated. In the walls, we see remnants of water pipes, suggesting that the houses had "admitted" water. In the middle of the houses there was usually an atrium, where rainwater was collected in a well. Around the atrium were often the bedrooms.

In Pompeii, there were about 30 bakeries. Street Kitchens was next door in the street towards the theater. Here there is still the disks where the food was kept in large stone jars. Behind the disks are rooms where people ate the food.

Trade and agriculture were well developed in Pompeii, and they produced the wine and olive oil. There were a number of trading companies in the city, ranging from hairdressers to bakers and blacksmiths. Public offices you can see as well.

In private homes, one can still see the wonderful frescoes on the walls. The gardens are decorated with frescoes, fountains, pillars and statues. Illuminated streets, they had also in Pompeii, though not in the form of street lighting. Pompeiierne used a special pebbles as they leave the cobblestones, so that when the moon shone down on the streets gave pebbles glare where you went.

When you walk around Pompeii (and compute time, the city is great and much to see), one can almost "see" people who once lived and worked here.

Pompeii is worth a visit, and often more. This is world history that is well preserved.

More superjumbos

More and more of its Airbus A380 superjombo are now in operation, Lufthansa is now using the first of the 15 planes they have ordered.
The first superjumboene inserted on routes to Tokyo, Beijing and Johannesburg.

Air France was the first European airline that took the world's largest passenger aircraft in use.

The plane will take over 500 passengers (the number varies with the decor companies have booked) and means in the long run that the number of airplane wings can reduce (or increase later) some of strained airports need.

Travel to Key West!

America is big and alluring, especially alluring for us Norwegians. We have always been drawn to the United States, whether it has been like immigrants of the nineteenth century or now as tourists.

Although I always dreamed of traveling to Florida, the solar energy state in the south. And it was just so big and so exciting to visit Florida that I had dreamed about. Now I have visited this state, other states, several times. And you will never be satisfied on all the impressions and experiences, at least not mentally. Filling the stomach is another matter!

We landed at Miami International airport and took us along with a rental car. Our goal was in fact Key West, four-hour drive from Miami. Unfortunately we turned wrong at Florida Turnpike, and lost the signs to Key West of sight. A well-grown cop with gun and baton in his belt was our salvation. He graciously signed up the roads for us, so we got in the right direction again. And then it was only to follow the main road down to Key West.

Key West is the last island of several islands that stretches from the southern tip of Florida and the ocean towards Cuba. The islands are connected by 42 bridges and several other places, it feels like you're running in the water since the road is the same height as the water. We pass the typical houses on stilts, pelicans sitting on his stumps in the water and you're lucky you may see an occasional alligator. You will also see the remains of railroad tracks that once were built from island to island. The railroad, however, was destroyed by a hurricane in 1932.

The city of Key West is not big. This experience can best foot. You can also rent you a bike or take the sightseeing train around the sights. It has a stop at the corner of Duval Street / Front Street. Duval Street is one of the main streets in Key West, stretching from Mallory Square, where you can enjoy the famous sunsets, the Southernmost Point in the other end, the southernmost point in the United States. There are shops in a row, small art galleries, bakeries and own a dog store with fresh dog biscuits in loose weight. I even found a small shop and here. Admittedly, rigid prices on the net, but I have never seen yarn with beads and crystals.

What is there much of the islands in the Gulf. You can fish, sail, snorkel, play golf, visit museums, shop, or how about a day at the spa? The choice is yours, there's something for both large and small.

Mallory Square attracts large crowds to take in the sunset. And it is beautiful when the sun settles in the water on the horizon and extending beyond its beautiful colors. From this point you can also see across to the island where Oprah Winfrey is one of his many homes.
Mallory Square is a vibrant point. Here you can sit on one of the restaurants and enjoy a drink or a meal at the water's edge. It also adds to the cruise ships. When cruise ships are docked, it is marked well in the streets. Tourists flock to, until the ships heading to the sea again and it will be slightly less crowded. Hens and roosters strutted around freely in Mallory Square area and do not be surprised if you meet someone. They are used to move among the cars and tourists and very photogenic.

Sloppy Joe's Bar is located on Duval Street, the bar said to be regular bar to Ernest Hemingway. You will also come to his home by swinging into the Whitehead Street, where the descendants of his many femtåede cats live. It was here that he wrote most of his novels.
Otherwise, the houses generally on Duval Street is well worth seeing. You feel transported several centuries back, and can actually see how masters and slaves once lived in southern states. Take the time to swing into the side streets, there are many beautiful houses here too with gardens and vegetation that is amazing.

President Harry S. Truman had his Little White House in Key West. This is now a museum with a small museum shop. Take a look back at least to capture the White House.

Key Lime pie. When you visit Key West, there is one thing you must not miss! Lime pies are sold in their own bakeries, including the Duval Street. This specialty of a limepai is a flavor bomb without equal! I was hooked at first bite, and had to return several times during the day we were in Key West. Which in turn made a major impact on the waistband! But it's not every day or every year, you eat real Key Lime pie. So do not think about weight, but indulge this taste experience!

Americans are known for good food and large portions. There are many good restaurants and cafes to choose from. Take a look at the menus and see what deadlines. You get everything from juicy burgers to fried conch. I must admit that I was not daring enough to book a conch, but the chicken we ate broke all records taste!

We stayed at the Paradise Inn within walking distance of Duval Street during our stay in Key West. A small hotel, with lovely garden and pool area and magnificent suites. There are also large hotel complexes with their own beaches.

Weddings in Key West can be nice to do! A number of hotels and wedding organizers will help you create the perfect wedding for you, whether you want wedding on a beach in a tropical garden, on the catamaran or cruise ship. The organizers put together your wedding package as you want it, whether you want large or small wedding.

According to legend it is said that you've got Key West sand in your shoes, you will come back again and again. And I can confirm one visit leads to more!

Visit Norway

Norwegians are a travel happy people, and we any trips down to the warm and good "the South" where we experience the umbrella drinks, great beaches and good food with good wine. But suddenly we find out that Norway is not that bad to holiday in either, and in this article I will try to tell a little about what good old Norway also has to offer.

The story of Norway begins in earnest well with the Vikings. And even if the Vikings might not be the main reason why people travel and vacationing in Norway today, they have definitely been a big story fact when it came to putting Norway on the map for the rest of the world. Why the Vikings fascinate both adults and children in all countries where the stories are familiar, may have originated in the atrocities and brutality of the Vikings is so famous for. And many have to scratch your head a little bit of why it was the sort of brutality in the past, when they experience the country, so peaceful, harmonious and enchanting scenery, which for many is said to provide the purest peace of mind.

But even if the Norwegian fjords shiny and beautiful valleys may help each of us peace of mind, one should certainly not forget the opposition away. Outrageous waterfalls, fast-flowing rivers, and mountains that get the most experienced mountain climbers to tremble at the knees, is also a big part of what Norway offers the slightly more adventurous from both home and abroad.
The cold north country is completely on par when it comes to the wild nature we see elsewhere in the world. It is possible we may not boast wild jungles and exotic animals, but then we see no moose on the steppes of Africa.

Norway has not only natural to come by for those who want to take their well deserved holiday in this country. It is full of history and historical places, we have lots of art and culture, and if you are looking for quality family time in the form of a vacation, there are plenty of idyllic småplasser, as well as great hotels in both small and large cities. It is most likely difficult to say that Norway is a country that has virtually everything.

Compared to some of the world's largest, is neither Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and other cities in Norway so indescribably great. But for people on vacation, and other travelers, most major cities in Norway to offer exactly the same as large cities in foreign countries, but in a smaller scale. There are shopping centers, restaurants, museums, stadiums and hotels enough to delight those who wish to spend a week or ten in a wonderful country, with an equally wonderful people, where both the country and its people are known to provide more than good enough for those on the go.

The only thing that may not always seem as hospitable in Norway's winter, but winter can be spent on the mountain, with all the words that are part of winter sports and mountain hotels. And if the ice more tempting than slalom driving, it is possible to base a family holiday on this, one of the hundreds of small cozy campsites along the country's pretty impressive coastal strip. The coast is also a dream for existing summer who want to get with the idyll of beads around the Norwegian archipelago. And one would wish for both a ride on the boat, and a day or two of skiing in the same summer, there is nothing to combine a trip to the great Arendal, with no subsequent days to perhaps a bit cooler, but just incredible Stryn. But apart from this particular scenario is not Norway is the country where you misunderstand what season it is.

Autumn is perhaps most the time where most people want to experience Norway via hotels and indoor activities. Season, because, as most people know to give a little unstable (rain) weather even if the sun is not completely forgotten the land for it, and now and then makes a great summer with colorful scenery, both by sea and mountains, not to mention the forest. Should holidays be a romantic trip with her boyfriend, the autumn in Norway more than enough settings for this and it should begin to have that said top hotels, even at this time of year.

Norway should be seen as a country where the adventures are lined up for travel seekers who want to create memories. The country has everything to offer, and even a bit more. It's probably not without reason that Norway several times been voted the best country to live in, and that is perhaps why so many journeys across continents to experience the country in the history books the world over is called the Viking countries.

So you're not keen on either the Mediterranean, the Alps or crocodile country, I wish you an enchanting holiday in the long and eventful Norway! It is and remains our own!

Bon voyage!

Lanzarote travelling tip

Lanzarote is one of the Canary Islands, but is still a bit different than the rest.

The Canary Island, located furthest to the east, is perhaps the one that has the most exciting landscapes and nature. Lanzarote is number 3 on the list of the Norwegians' most popular Canary Islands, but is probably the island that has the most to offer in terms of excursion, if you're interested in art and nature. César Manrique called the man who built most of the sculptures can be seen on the many roundabouts in Lanzarote. He is widely regarded as the most important person from Lanzarote, and his home in Tahíche, today turned into a museum. He was also a city planner when most tourist areas were built in the late søtti century and may well be said to be responsible for begyggelsen in Lanzarote. It is characterized by that very few houses are higher than the palm trees, which in turn leads to the towns of slides along with the rest of the landscape.

Most tourists visiting Lanzarote, staying in one of the tourist areas of the ocean. The most famous is of Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca, Costa Teguise and Puerto Calero. These resort towns welcomes almost 50,000 Norwegians every year, and the good climate and spectacular scenery, makes many people choose and come back year after year. These towns offer plenty of activities like water sports, fishing, cycling and other sports such as windsurfing. Puerto del Carmen is perhaps the most visited, but if you are traveling with children should Playa Blanca clearly assessed. Here you will find shallow beaches which is ideal for small children.

But some of the things that stands out from both Lanzarote Gran Canaria and Tenerife, you will not find on the beach. A bit inland on the island, there are many amazing places to visit as for example the small village of Yaiza. This little town has many times been mentioned as the most beautiful city in all of Spain, and contains small cozy Canarian families on, mixed with palm trees, flowers and Geria, Yaiza own wine. Tahíche mentioned over here has much more to tempt you with not just the house of Cesar Manrique. You can also experience a genuine Canarian on a chair by the curb.

El Golfo is located south of the island and has a wonderful green lagoon. Algae that live here, create the beautiful green color you can see in the water. It is not allowed to bathe, but to fill up fotografiapperatet should be no problem. Last but not least, the National Park Timanfaya mentioned. Lanzarote is a volcanic island, to know the most. But it is active, not all aware of. In Timanfaya can experience the heat of volcanoes, and only 10 meters below the ground can be up to 600 degrees hot. A restaurant in the mountains here are cooking just by means of this heat, and you get served here volcano fried food! These are just some of what you can do on this wonderful holiday island. Good trip to Lanzarote.

Messi vs Ronaldo

As expected, it appears that the Primera Division 2010/2011 shall stand between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Nor uivnetet see it already appears that the most important players for teams respectively Messi and Ronaldo. Yesterday was again central to both their teams to new victories, Ronaldo put two goals and decided the away match against Real's Hercules, while Messi scoreet two and had an assist in Barcelona's comfortable 5-0 win at home against Hercules.

Currently, Ronaldo 12 goals in 8 matches (average: 1.5) while Messi has 8 goals in 7 matches (Mean 1.14), and Real Madrid are a point ahead of Barcelona at the top of the table ... ..

It must be said in this connection that Barcelona have had a tougher match program, and has in the last two games met with Valencia and Sevilla, while Real have had more manageable opponent so far.

One thing is certain at least-it is really hard race for both the series title and the title of top scorer in Spain this season
